Sport Cheshire is the trading name of Cheshire & Warrington Sports Partnership Trust Ltd, an independent charitable company that works proactively with a range of partners to improve the offer for Cheshire & Warrington residents to play more sport and become more physically active.
We are a credible charitable company with track record that extends over 23 years.
We lead Cheshire & Warrington Sports Partnership, one of a 49-strong network across England. Each local network is different (for example, the one in Cheshire & Warrington does not have a formal membership and organisations do not make any financial contribution to be part of it) but on our patch we aim to get a wide range of players - for example, NGB's, sport development teams and facility operators in local authorities, sports clubs, education providers, and professional sports clubs - to work together for mutual gain. We actively support and facilitate this multi-agency approach to make participation in sport and physical activity a regular habit for many more people, ensuring the delivery of opportunities in the ways and places that people want.
We are in a unique position - we are part of a national network which can influence national policy yet are able to co-ordinate a network of local providers to drive local plans, projects and investment in sport and physical activity on behalf of Cheshire & Warrington residents: nationally-aware, locally-focused. We connect participants and local deliverers to policy makers and investors in a simple and co-ordinated way. We are both nationally recognised and mandated - we are acknowledged by Government, Sport England and other national agencies as the strategic lead body for sport and physically activity locally.
